History

The island of Bali is a gift to the world. Bali, meaning 'Offering' is a very special place. Here the ancient teachings for spiritual and physical enlightenment can be attained. Where India is the root, Bali is the fruit.

Bali is blessed with a sacred mandala throughout its mountains, rivers, and valleys marked by temples founded by Hindu & Buddhist Gurus such as Agastya from India who were inspired to migrate to Bali, to establish their ashrams over 1,000 years ago. Over time, more and more monks from India came to Bali. Niratha, a Buddhist monk, incorporated the ancient Yoga with Buddhism and finally had the vision of the Living Mandala as a pilgrimage to self-enlightenment. Niratha gained both physical and spiritual enlightenment (Moksha) through a walking pilgrimage (Tirta Yatra) of the Bali Living Mandala, by utilizing the sacred knowledge embedded in the temples and ashrams. Since Niratha's time, 400 years ago, this knowledge has not been ready to be released to the world.

Yoga Teachings

Bhakti Yoga (Devotion): This is the art of devotion. When we practice Bhakti yoga we are showing our devotion and faith through a regular spiritual practice. Practicing devotion is varied but what is of utmost importance is that the devotion be not only to God, but to the practice of good thoughts, good word usage, and good deeds.

Karma Yoga: The act of doing selfless action in the form of work is karma yoga. Any good action can be karma yoga when it is done unconditionally from your heart, for the benefit of others.

Raja Yoga: Raja yoga deals with the mind and offering yourself through practice or disciplines. The mind is a tool in yoga and needs to be trained. Usually this yoga comes as a confirmation of your faith and practice (Sadhana). Raja yoga includes the practices of fasting, japa, mantra, asanas, pranayama and meditation to bring oneself closer to God. The steps of Raja yoga are called Ashtanga Yoga (8 limbs) as described by Patanjali.

Jnana Yoga: Jnana yoga is finding God/Guru (teacher) within yourself through wisdom and knowledge from connection to Source. This relates to wisdom from the soul. The practice includes the reading of holy scriptures, spiritual consultations, personal study or in giving or receiving spiritual teachings.
